Managing Art Director
JOB SUMMARY:
The Managing Art Director is a creative leader responsible for setting and maintaining the visual direction of the assigned brand(s) while managing and mentoring a team of art directors. This role blends strategic thinking, creative excellence, and operational leadership.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead art direction for all brand and product photography across campaigns and channels
Develop creative concepts, shot lists, visual references, and briefs for photoshoots
Partner closely with photographers, stylists, producers, and external vendors to execute creative vision
Concept and design catalogs, including unique covers and text pages, while managing production timelines
Develop creative concepts for cross-channel campaigns that support brand and business objectives
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of art directors through clear direction and constructive feedback
Set creative standards and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all deliverables
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management
Present creative concepts, layouts, and photography direction to senior stakeholders
Act as a creative partner to Marketing, Merchandising, and E-commerce teams to align on strategy and execution
Balance creative excellence with production efficiency, ensuring deadlines are consistently met
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete or participate in special projects as assigned
Stay current on industry trends, bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the brand.

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
Catalog and Direct Mail Design Skills
Business Acumen
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with audiences at various levels.
Strategic Thinking

Ability to make sound, timely, business decisions and/or recommendations
Ability to lead and motivate teams and manage performance.
Creative Vision
Ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and meet deadlines
Ability to travel to the corporate office in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
3+ years of management experience
5+ years of experience in print and digital art direction and design
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
Strong graphic design and typography skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
