Protection Technologies is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Low Voltage Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a candidate with foundational experience in estimating, project coordination, or low-voltage systems who is ready to advance their career in the security integration industry. The Junior Estimator will assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate and competitive proposals for Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Fire Alarm, and fully integrated security systems. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
Read and understand blueprints and prepare detailed quantity take-offs.
Provide full estimates on large work and all types of contracts.
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating / pricing extra work items, change orders, credit, procuring materials, etc.
Review and complete all preliminary documents for newly awarded jobs.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Liaison between the field and office.
Monitor project progress and recommend adjustments to the schedule as needed.
Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
Answering and redirecting phone calls as needed. Taking messages as needed.
Ensure deadlines and cost targets are met.
Complete all closeout documents as needed.
Qualifications
Strong project management skills
Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Capable of taking a project from receipt of documents to rough estimate ready for review.
Ability to multitask and /or delegate if necessary.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
