Met Council is America's largest Jewish charity dedicated to serving the needy. We fight poverty through comprehensive social services and by treating each client with compassion, integrity, and respect. Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325,000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100% affordable housing at 21 locations, family violence services, Holocaust survivor assistance, geriatric social work, crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 101 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and affiliated JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City.

Position Summary Met Council, America's largest Jewish charity dedicated to fighting poverty, seeks a creative, entrepreneurial, visionary, and experienced leader and manager to serve as its first Senior Director of Business Intelligence, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. This individual will be charged with overseeing and setting the long-term vision for Met Council's data, information systems, and performance management infrastructure, as well as developing new standards for employee onboarding and enablement of organization-wide adoption of Business Intelligence tools, such as Salesforce and Sage Intacct. They will also play a hands‑on role in implementing these solutions with the internal team and external vendors.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about managing teams that build and maintain sustainable, scalable data, technology, and project management solutions. They will also excel at designing excellent, user‑friendly products in collaboration with diverse users. The Senior Director of Business Intelligence will partner with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and financial institutions, to ensure state‑of‑the‑art usability, design, functionality, and sustainability of Met Council's platforms for its extensive network of clients and partners across New York City.

Responsibilities Information technology and product leadership

Acting as product owner for various departmental instances on Met Council's core technology platform, Salesforce, ensuring both day‑to‑day functionality and continuous improvement aligned with the organization's mission to combat poverty and empower clients.

Overseeing projects and initiatives related to Met Council's technology infrastructure and investments, including software, hardware, and related services. This includes evaluating, recommending, and coordinating the launch of new technologies and updates, in collaboration with external vendors, consultants, software providers, and security advisors.

Defining project metrics and return on investment (ROI) goals for initiatives, tracking performance post‑delivery, and communicating product performance regularly with stakeholders.

Recommending, overseeing, and implementing technology solutions and policies that align with Met Council's holistic approach to client service and its mission to move individuals from crisis to stability, including the effective and secure uses of artificial intelligence.

Overseeing the evolution of Met Council's data systems and architecture to meet programmatic needs while maintaining the highest levels of data integrity.

Overseeing the data operations and analytics team, and providing strategic direction on related projects.

Supporting the integration of data visualization and business intelligence tools, like Tableau, within and across the organization.

Leading in the continuous learning, improvement, impact, and knowledge sharing for the entire Met Council team.

This Role Will Involve

Overseeing each department’s implementations and day‑to‑day Business Intelligence Systems operations, and supporting project management efforts.

Building up a team that can support Met Council’s departments and its growing data analysis needs.

Driving digital transformation efforts within the organization, identifying and implementing advanced technologies to improve service delivery and boost operational efficiency.

Fostering interdepartmental collaboration through technology by integrating systems that facilitate communication and data sharing.

Leading technological capacity building initiatives, including selecting appropriate technologies, negotiating licensing, implementing them, and ensuring staff are trained to use them effectively.

Optimizing resource allocation through strategic technology investments and fostering collaborations with technology partners.

Promoting inclusivity and accessibility by overseeing the development and maintenance of digital resources that are usable by individuals with disabilities and diverse cultural backgrounds.

In essence, the Senior Director of Business Intelligence will be crucial in leveraging technology to enhance Met Council's mission, expand its reach, and deepen its impact on the lives of those it serves.

Strategic Technology Leadership: Ability to develop and implement a technology vision that aligns with Met Council's mission and strategic goals.

Technology & Infrastructure Management: Oversight and optimization of the organization's technology platforms, systems, and vendors to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Data & Performance Management: Expertise in leveraging data to track program outcomes, inform decision‑making, and measure the impact of services.

Innovation & Digital Transformation: Championing the adoption of new technologies to enhance service delivery, increase efficiency, and reach a broader client base.

Leadership & Team Building: Inspiring and mentoring a team, fostering collaboration, and attracting talent to support the organization's technological initiatives.

Collaboration & Communication: Effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, funders, and community organizations, to ensure successful technology implementation and adoption.

Project Management & Execution: Ability to plan, execute, and deliver technology projects effectively, ensuring they meet deadlines and objectives. This includes project scoping and requirements generation in partnership with Met Council teams.

Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Managing technology budgets and resources to maximize impact and efficiency within a non‑profit environment.

Non‑Profit Mission Alignment: Strong commitment to Met Council's mission of fighting poverty and empowering clients, ensuring technology solutions are relevant and impactful.

Skills and Education

5+ years technological product and/or project‑management experience (required)

Bachelor's Degree (required)

Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated with the latest technological advancements and trends through workshops, conferences, online courses, and relevant certifications is essential.

Compensation $135,000 to $155,000 per year.
