Position Overview: The Technical Writer, Sales Enablement, is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate, clear, and professional technical documentation that supports the Sales and Business Development teams. This role translates complex engineering concepts, methodologies, and specifications into sales‑ready materials that support proposals, client engagement, and contract pursuits.
The ideal candidate has a background in engineering or a related discipline and the ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Develop, edit, and maintain sales‑facing technical documentation, including proposal narratives, technical write‑ups, capability statements, solution overviews, and project descriptions
Translate engineering concepts, methodologies, and specifications into clear, concise, and client‑ready language
Support Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and customer questionnaires with accurate, timely, and compliant technical responses
Partner with Engineers, Project Managers, Estimators, and Operations leaders to gather technical input and validate accuracy
Develop technical content related to project means and methods, schedules, materials, safety approaches, quality control, and delivery strategies.
Ensure all documentation aligns with contract requirements, client expectations, and approved company standards
Maintain centralized repositories of proposal and sales documentation with version control and audit readiness
Establish documentation templates, style guidelines, and best practices to support consistent proposal responses
Update content based on changes in codes, standards, project approaches, and lessons learned
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
(Preferred) bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Technical Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
1+ years of experience in technical writing, proposal writing, engineering documentation, or a related role within the construction or engineering industry
Demonstrated experience supporting sales, business development, or proposal teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences
Experience collaborating with engineers, project teams, and field personnel
Valid US driver's license and strong driving safety record (no more than 2 moving violations in previous 3 years).
Acceptable background check, clear of DWI convictions, for the last 5 years.
Foster teamwork and collaboration within and between department(s)
Qualifications:
(Preferred) Background in engineering, civil engineering, or a related technical discipline
Experience with vertical, infrastructure, or industrial projects
Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents
Experience supporting competitive bid processes and negotiated work pursuits
