Wage: $22.00 - $28.00/hour

Full-Time ~ Seasonal March ~ October

Head Gardener / Horticulturist: Actively oversee and maintain the landscaping for our championship golf course and surrounding property. Responsible for creating and sustaining aesthetically pleasing and functional plant environments for our members and guests.

Must be 18 years old

to obtain Pesticide License

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain all ornamental plant materials across the Club to ensure their health and beauty.

Design and implement flower and shrub beds that enhance the property's aesthetics.

Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments to maintain the health of plants.

Trim and prune hedges and shrubbery according to horticultural best practices.

Advise the Superintendent on tree care, including pruning and disease management.

Develop and manage cut-flower programs and interior floral arrangements, ensuring seasonal freshness and alignment with Club events and décor.

Oversee budget and inventory management related to horticultural supplies and equipment.

Collaborate with the Superintendent during budget presentations.

Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of all landscaping equipment.

Assist in other areas as directed by Superintendents, including supporting the Grounds Crew.

Work collaboratively with all departments within the club to achieve common goals.

Required Attributes:

Valid driver's license

Minnesota Department of Agriculture Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (required or willingness to obtain - Must be 18 years of age).

Punctual and dedicated to maintaining positive interactions with colleagues, members, and guests.

Strong desire to perform tasks efficiently and safely.

Desired Qualifications:

Self-starter who is able to lead a small crew in the day-to-day maintenance of the club grounds

Strong aesthetic sense, attention to detail, and pride in creating beautiful, sustainable spaces.

Knowledge of local plant materials, irrigation systems, lighting systems, and pest management.

High school diploma or GED; post‑secondary education in a horticultural field or equivalent experience is preferred.

Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in horticulture.

Position & Schedule:

Seasonal, Non-Exempt, Mid‑Level position. Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the golf season. Days and hours may vary based on environmental conditions, tournaments, and seasonal changes.
