Position Summary The Senior Creative Web Specialist provides creative concepting and copywriting leadership, managing advertising projects from conception through production. This includes partnering closely with art directors to create effective, engaging and creative solutions that support and extend the Duke Energy brand.
This position is ideally suited for an individual who is deeply committed to advancing the brand and adept at navigating the complexities and opportunities inherent in our advertising strategy. The role demands a demonstrated ability to independently manage the creative development of intricate, high‑visibility projects within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment involving multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Concept, write and produce effective, creative advertising that reflects, extends and appropriately evolves our brand.
Partner with art directors and account managers to ensure advertising is consistently high quality, on‑strategy, and on time. Follow defined policies and workflow processes.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of different advertising channels and best practices.
Support crisis and storm communications as needed. Experience with Content Workflow required.
Mentor and support fellow copywriters, sharing experience and expertise, helping them to develop their own writing style and voice within the brand.
Navigate effectively through long‑term, complex projects with multiple stakeholders, providing creative counsel to help clients meet their communication goals.
Take on high‑profile, highly sensitive projects and present ideas to lead stakeholders.

Proven, senior‑level creative copywriting experience.
Able to give and receive constructive feedback, collaborate with others and challenge the status quo.
Passionate about advertising, understanding different channels and finding new ways to express our brand and connect with intended audiences.
Committed to building and maintaining strong, positive relationships.
Exceptional presentation skills.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Able to lead strategic discussions, explore potential creative solutions and navigate through complex, long‑term projects with multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrates discernment regarding use of AI in the ideating stage of creative development.
Basic/Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years related work experience.
In lieu of degree and years of experience listed above, High School/GED and five (5) years related work experience.
Desired Qualifications
8+ years copywriting experience.
At least 5 years experience scripting and executing videos or animated content.
At least two years of experience with Duke Energy systems, such as Gather Content, Figma, Workamajig, etc.
Experience helping build brand strategy and mission statements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and Word, as well as SharePoint.
Working Conditions
Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
Travel Requirements
5-15% travel.
