A leading equipment distributor is seeking a

Regional Sales Manager

to oversee and develop a multi-state territory in the Upper Midwest. Candidates can be based in

Illinois, Missouri, or Eastern Missouri.

This role is responsible for leading a team of outside Sales Representatives, strengthening strategic customer relationships, and driving market share growth across a seven-state region.

This is a hands‑on leadership position with significant field engagement, ride‑alongs, and coaching. The ideal candidate is a strong, accountable leader who can challenge a diverse team of veteran and emerging sales professionals while driving performance through clear KPIs and disciplined CRM execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a regional team of Sales Representatives across a multi-state territory

Execute strategic sales initiatives to increase market share and improve customer engagement

Conduct ride‑alongs, coaching sessions, and field training to elevate team performance

Manage regional sales forecasting using CRM data, fleet data, and established sales processes

Hold team accountable to KPIs, activity metrics, and revenue targets

Maintain and grow relationships with key and strategic accounts

Support longer sales cycles through consultative, solutions-based selling

Provide insights on competitive activity, regional trends, and growth opportunities

Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment on product positioning, unit inspections, and customer delivery

Travel approximately 50% within the region (initially higher during onboarding and training)

3+ years of sales management experience OR 5+ years of industry‑related sales experience

Equipment sales background required (OEM or distributor experience preferred)

Proven ability to lead, challenge, and develop high‑performing sales teams

Strong understanding of CRM systems and sales metrics

Experience managing longer sales cycles and complex, solution‑based sales

Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills

Ability to travel throughout the region with limited overnight travel

College degree preferred, but leadership and sales management experience are more critical
