Strategic Account Manager The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for managing relationships, renewing existing business, and generating new business within assigned key accounts. This role drives sales growth, delivers innovative solutions, and ensures high levels of customer satisfaction across all sites. The SAM leads strategic planning and implementation efforts for large regional or global accounts.

Primary Responsibilities

Own and manage overall customer relationships across assigned accounts.

Develop and maintain strategic partnerships for large growth and retention accounts.

Identify opportunities for account expansion and offer value-added services.

Monitor operational metrics across all key account sites.

Track competitor actions and formulate appropriate response strategies.

Drive sales growth and revenue goals; maintain responsibility for customer P&L.

Lead global or regional strategy and implementation for large accounts.

Proactively monitor customer satisfaction through regular engagement.

Ensure alignment between customer expectations and FSC operational activities (pricing, contracts).

Facilitate executive engagement and leverage organizational resources for customer success.

Maintain documented account strategy (e.g., Gold Sheet) for assigned accounts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of supply chain or 3PL sales experience required.

In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED with 10 years of relevant experience.

Skills And Qualifications

Demonstrated success in achieving major account sales goals and executing customer strategies.

Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.

Proven track record of customer retention and satisfaction.

Consistent performance in meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Strategic planning and sales management expertise.
