Job Description SUNY Cobleskill (Cobleskill, NY) seeks an Assistant Director of Residential Life to oversee the supervision and training of both professional and student staff and contribute to the administrative operations of the department, including summer activities. This will be a live‑on position with on‑call duties that include after‑hours, weekend and holiday coverage throughout the year. Assist with recruiting, training and supervising all Residence Directors and over 150 student staff. Provide direct supervision to Residence Directors, six or more Resident Assistants and other student staff in the primary residence. Oversee on‑campus student housing within one or more campus residences. Provide direct and intentional engagement with students. Ensure all professional and student staff are prepared to help students take responsibility for their safety and well‑being. Facilitate and support academic, cultural and social initiatives for residential students in alignment with institutional goals. Focus on student and professional development through training, education, and co‑curricular initiatives for students in line with institutional goals. Further responsibilities include providing support and counseling to students, staff and parents in crisis situations, collaborating with campus counselors, police and other personnel. Assist with the daily operations of the Department of Residential Life and manage housing operations for 11 residential buildings, ensuring clean, safe and secure accommodations. Create and update policies and procedures with the Director and other administrators. Represent Residential Life on divisional and college committees. Oversee summer residence hall operations for orientation, overnight camps, and residential guests.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling or related field, as well as 2 years of progressive experience in higher education, including supervision of paraprofessional staff, preferably within residential life.

Additional Information

Salary offered is $57,151 per year.
