Position Summary The
Co‑op Technical Sales Representative
will support the sales team in expanding Powerex's presence in the medical piped equipment and laboratory markets. This role provides hands‑on exposure to consultative, relationship‑driven technical sales by working alongside experienced sales professionals, design engineers, distributor partners, and end users.
The co‑op will assist with territory management, customer support, product education, and market development activities while developing a strong understanding of technical sales processes, customer needs, and industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Support the sales team with quotation, submittal, and follow‑up activities
Learn about the Medical Gas and Laboratory Gas industries - products, applications, markets, sales cycles
Learn how to go to market with a distribution network
Participate in customer visits, sales calls, and training sessions alongside senior sales staff
Assist with product and application training materials and presentations
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and account tracking
Maintain and update customer and opportunity data in CRM systems
Learn about industry regulations, particularly NFPA 99
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Currently pursuing a BS/BA degree (Engineering, Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred)
Interest in technical or consultative sales and engineering‑driven products
Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
Ability to interact professionally with engineers, contractors, and customers
Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; CRM exposure is a plus
Technical curiosity - experience or coursework related to engineering systems is beneficial but not required
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Travel Requirements
Each co‑op term will involve at least one travel experience with one of our experienced technical sales representatives to make sales calls with distributors, engineers, contractors, and healthcare facilities
Travel expenses will be reimbursed
Co‑op will work with the sales team to plan and schedule travel
