About the Role:
As the SVP, Head of Product for Dow Jones Energy, you will be the visionary architect responsible for the digital products that power the global markets in Fuels, Chemicals, Metals & Mining, and the critical Energy Transition. You will lead the charge in evolving our world‑class data, analytics, and news platforms into indispensable tools for traders, analysts, and sustainability officers, as well as procurement teams and fuel retailers. Your impact will be felt across the Dow Jones organization, where we combine trusted news, data and intelligence to help leaders see clearly, act quickly and move confidently. You will report to the General Manager of Dow Jones Energy.
The energy landscape is undergoing its most significant transformation since the Industrial Revolution and Dow Jones Energy sits at the intersection of history and commerce. You will have the resources of a global powerhouse with the mandate to innovate like a Series B startup. If you want to build the tools that will literally price the future of the planet, let’s talk.
You Are
- The Tech-Fluent Strategist: You don’t need to write code, but you must understand how data architecture, AI/ML, and API-first delivery models impact the user experience. You can hold your own in a room full of senior engineers or executives.
- The Storyteller: You can take complex market data and turn it into a compelling product narrative that excites both internal stakeholders and Tier-1 global clients.
- The Operator: You have a proven track record of managing P&Ls and delivering ROI on complex, multi-million dollar product builds.
You Will
- Define and execute a multi-year product strategy across Dow Jones Energy verticals.
- Identify where the market is moving and ensure our products are there before customers even know they need them.
- Work in a “lockstep” partnership with the Technology organization.
- Translate market needs into scalable technical requirements, ensuring that our infrastructure is as agile as the markets we cover.
- Oversee the lifecycle of products ranging from legacy fuel price benchmarks to nascent energy transition analytics.
- Make the hard calls on what to build, what to buy, and what to sunset.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure our value proposition is crystal clear.
- Solve high-stakes business problems for global clients.
- Mentor and grow a high-performing team of Product Managers.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, rapid experimentation, and “extreme ownership.”
You Have
- 15+ years’ Product Management experience, with at least 7+ years in a senior leadership role within the Energy, Fintech, or Commodities space.
- Proven experience navigating large-scale digital transformations or platform migrations.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies and a deep understanding SDLC.
- A “Product-Led Growth” mindset, even in a B2B enterprise environment.
- Deep understanding of commodity markets, the complexities of the chemical supply chain, and why the “Energy Transition” is a data problem as much as an engineering one (a plus).
