Traveling Sales Estimator - Structural Steel
A well-respected and growing structural steel fabricator and erector in Indianna is seeking a driven
Sales Estimator,
that is willing to travel to clients and jobsites in the Mid-Antantic Region,
to support continued growth. This role is ideal for a competitive professional who combines estimating expertise with strong deal-closing ability.
As a Sales Estimator, you will review bid documents, perform takeoffs, prepare competitive proposals, and actively pursue awarded work. You will collaborate closely with project management, detailing, and fabrication teams to ensure pricing accuracy and successful project turnover.
Key Responsibilities
50% Travel to Clients & jobsite in the Mid-Atlantic region Review plans, specifications, and bid packages
Perform accurate takeoffs
Prepare bids, proposals, budgets, and change order pricing
Actively follow up on bids and close new work
Build and maintain relationships with contractors and clients
Coordinate with project management, detailing, and fabrication teams
Maintain estimating files and pricing history
Support project teams during job handoff
Qualifications
Estimating or Project Management experience in
Structural Steel or Misc. Metals
Experience on projects ranging from
$5 milllion - $60 million
Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection
Ability to read structural and architectural drawings
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
Preferred
Experience with a structural steel fabricator or erector
Proven ability to aggressively close deals
Familiarity with AISC standards and production rates
Compensation & Benefits
$125,000 - $135,000 base salary + commission
