About The Role Researches and analyzes the company's markets, competition, and product mix for the pipeline. Performs literature research, analyzes, and summarizes data, and makes presentations on new markets and disease areas. Analyzes competitive environment, future trends and makes recommendations. Conducts market surveys and summarizes results. Supports and may lead commercial input into lifecycle strategy as well as product and portfolio assessments across pipeline programs in both Neuroscience and Endocrinology. Active participant in early commercial planning and market research for therapeutic candidates from early‑stage clinical development through phase III.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)
Market Research
Participates in primary and secondary market research to characterize market opportunities and maximize the value of Neurocrine’s pipeline programs, such as involvement in healthcare provider consultant conversations and analyzing drug sales and prescriptions data
Provides customer insights and recommendations to help inform clinical development decisions including formulations, dosing, desired endpoints, evidence generation plans and other elements impacting product labeling and overall commercial viability
Collaborates with the Business Development team as relevant, including commercial due diligence on licensing, and collaboration opportunities
Portfolio Analytics
Responsible for routine updates to long‑range forecasts for pipeline programs and reporting for long‑range planning activities
Collaborates with cross‑functional stakeholders across Commercial, Program Management, HEOR, and Finance to conduct analyses to drive data‑driven decision‑making across development programs
Competitive Intelligence
Monitors competitive therapies of relevance to company's pipeline, including product attributes, comparative clinical trial design and results, and market uptake
Maintains routine competitive intelligence updates for pipeline programs across the portfolio to allow development teams to react to new information by strengthening underlying product candidate profiles
Executes competitive landscapes and market assessments for novel drug targets and agents
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned
Requirements
BS/BA degree in marketing or life sciences, with a neuroscience concentration preferred AND 4+ years of experience in new product commercialization, management consulting, business development or related disciplines in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries. Experience in neurology and/or psychiatry new product commercialization is a plus. OR
Master's degree in life sciences or business AND 2+ years of similar experience noted above OR
PharmD or PhD AND some experience preferred
Understands key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish work
Has strong understanding of processes, procedures and systems used to accomplish the work and recognizes downstream impact on other functional areas
Excellent computer skills
Strong communications, problem‑solving, analytical thinking skills
Detail oriented yet can see broader picture for department
Ability to meet multiple deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
Strong project management skills and ability to successfully execute on multiple projects
General knowledge of principles of new product commercialization/ new product planning, strategic marketing, and/or product strategy principles appropriate to pharmaceutical or biologic therapeutics
Intermediate understanding of data analytics and market research techniques with ability to interpret market insights to help guide strategic decision‑making (financial modeling, long‑range forecasting, and/or portfolio simulation experience is a plus)
Ability to work with a variety of databases and analytics solutions to conduct secondary market research and analytics
Ability to work with cross‑functional colleagues across the business and scientific areas of the organization and work effectively in a matrix environment
Works to improve tools and processes within functional area

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $103,300.00–$141,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
