About the Role Responsible for supporting Employee Benefits escalations and complex issues with compliant outcomes, while applying strong analytical and quantitative skills to evaluate employee benefit and leave of absence programs. This role analyzes benefits, healthcare, and leave data to assess cost-effectiveness, identify trends, and support data-driven recommendations. Partners with Benefits Managers, HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, vendors, and external consultants to deliver timely analysis, reporting, and insights that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement of benefit programs.
Your Contributions
Analyze benefits, healthcare, and leave of absence data to identify utilization trends, cost drivers, emerging patterns, and cost‑benefit analysis between various Benefit programs
Perform recurring and ad hoc analysis of self‑funded medical and leave data to support program utilization
Support Accounting with quarterly budget review and forecasting needs
Manage invoicing and track to annual budget
Manage vendor contracts and amendments
Prepare trend reports, summaries, and basic forecasting models to support benefit planning, renewals, and Open Enrollment decisions
Apply statistical analysis techniques, including trend analysis, variance analysis, cohort analysis, and basic forecasting, to evaluate benefits and leave program performance
Support review of broker actuarial data to assist in validating trends, claims, and budget projections.
Support annual Open Enrollment through data analysis, participation reporting, and post‑enrollment impact evaluation
Assist with evaluation of vendor performance, renewal proposals, benchmarking studies
Conduct data validation, enrollment audits, and invoice reconciliation to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of benefits data
Support compliance and regulatory reporting activities (e.g., Form 5500, ACA, CMS, state reporting) by ensuring data accuracy and audit readiness
Partner cross‑functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Legal to respond to data requests and support benefits‑related initiatives
Maintain and update standard reports, dashboards, and analytical tools used to monitor benefits and leave program performance
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for benefits and leave data, escalating complex issues as appropriate

Requirements
BA/BS in Business, HR, or related field, or equivalent experience, training, or certifications AND 4+ years of related work experience OR
MA/MS in Business, HR, or related field AND 2+ years of related work experience OR
Human Resources Certificate highly preferred
May require special certification CP, SCP, PHR, aPHR, SPHR, PHRca, CEBS, Absence Management
Work with actuarial team to review renewal data and reporting to support data‑driven recommendations, decisions and trends
Summarize and present data for review with Health and Wellbeing committee, HR, and Finance teams
Leverage available tools and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy of data report (e.g., AI)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Strong knowledge of employee benefits and leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, state leaves, disability)
Experience working with HRIS and third‑party benefit/leave vendors
Exposure to advanced Excel‑based analytics for health cost analysis (e.g., pivot tables, trending and scenario modeling)
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of self‑funding, stop‑loss and PMPM concepts (e.g., claim lag, stop‑loss, loss ratios, trends)
Ability to leverage a variety of tools and platforms to support Payroll, Accounting, HR and external vendors
Expertise with vendor dashboards and reporting tools, preferably Workday and AbsenseSoft

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $97,000.00-$133,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
