
Join IBM's Salesforce Practice team as a Solutions Architect and Engineer, playing a crucial role in crafting innovative Salesforce solutions enhanced by IBM's Consulting AI and asset-based capabilities. Work closely with clients to identify unique challenges and develop transformative solutions that drive digital transformation in healthcare, life sciences, state, local, and education sectors.
In this position, you will serve as a trusted advisor, merging your technical expertise with a comprehensive understanding of public sector needs and procurement processes. You'll be integral to the sales cycle—from initial client engagement and requirements analysis to solution design, demonstration, and proposal crafting. This role requires a unique blend of architectural insight, hands-on technical proficiency, and exceptional communication skills to convey complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Your role and responsibilities:
Collaborate with IBM account teams and clients to understand their mission, business processes, and technical requirements.
Design and architect innovative, scalable, and secure solutions on the Salesforce platform, including Data Cloud and various Salesforce Clouds (Industry, Service, Marketing, Sales).
Create and deliver impactful technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) that showcase the value of proposed solutions.
Lead technical discovery sessions and workshops to refine requirements and validate solution designs.
Provide expert guidance on Salesforce best practices, architectural patterns, and integration strategies tailored for the public sector.
Advise clients on data modeling best practices within the Salesforce framework (SF Data Model) and utilize Data Cloud for unified data strategies.
Integrate IBM's asset portfolio into Salesforce-focused solutions when beneficial.
Address technical sections of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other procurement documentation.
Stay informed about the latest Salesforce product releases, certifications, and industry trends, especially related to the public sector.
Mentor and guide junior technical staff when applicable.
Build and nurture strong relationships with key client stakeholders and IBM internal teams.

Required technical and professional expertise:
Proven experience in a solution architect or engineering role focused on pre-sales activities.
Demonstrated experience with the Salesforce Data Model.
Significant experience in Data Cloud implementation as a technical architect.
Hold the Agentforce | Salesforce AI Specialist certified credential.
Possess certifications in Salesforce Data Cloud, Industry Cloud, and at least one core Salesforce Cloud (Service, Marketing, Sales, or relevant Industry Cloud).
Expertise in SQL and SOQL.
Extensive background in implementing and/or architecting solutions using Salesforce Clouds in complex environments.
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, with experience on one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently and part of a dispersed team.
Experience with or selling to public sector clients is highly valued.
Preferred technical and professional experience:
Additional Salesforce certifications.
Experience with relevant technologies and integration patterns.
Familiarity with healthcare-specific compliance and security requirements such as HIPAA.
Experience with Agile methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
