We are seeking a Purchasing Manager with 5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing in a manufacturing environment; furniture or textiles experience is strongly preferred. This role is onsite, 5 days per week.
What this rolewill do:
Lead the raw material purchasing strategy with a focus on fabric sourcing, vendor performance, cost management, and operational reliability.
Develop and implement purchasing strategies focused on optimizing fabric categories and other raw materials needed for production.
Monitor and forecast material demand to meet production requirements while preventing shortages, overstock, and excess aged inventory.
Understand drivers of raw-material cost changes and proactively adjust purchasing decisions and supplier negotiations.
Manage supplier relationships and lead contract negotiations to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
Ensure a consistent supply to manufacturing facilities while building strong supplier partnerships that support quality, speed, and cost targets.
Drive process discipline, purchase planning, cross-functional communication, and measurable improvements in material availability.
Oversee the purchasing team, manage vendor negotiations, and coordinate with multiple departments.
Conduct market research to benchmark pricing, understand macro supply-chain dynamics, and identify competitive sourcing opportunities.
What the right candidate will have:
5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing within manufacturing; furniture or textiles experience strongly preferred.
2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.
Experience in textile or upholstery fabric sourcing highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of raw-material inventory management, purchasing processes, and forecasting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP purchasing modules (Infor preferred).
BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Clear communicator who sets expectations, is accountable, and takes ownership.
Strong at building positive relationships across the organization and with vendors.
Ability to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
