
Moxy Charleston is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts. This role is pivotal in driving revenue through proactive sales strategies, market engagement and relationship development. This role leads all sales efforts including corporate, group and local accounts while positioning the Moxy brand as the preferred lifestyle hotel in the market.
The Director of Sales will be accountable for meeting and exceeding budgeted room revenue, building strong community partnership and creating innovative sales approaches that reflect Moxy's energetic and modern personality. This role involves working closely with the General Manager and Corporate Sales Team to ensure the hotel’s offerings align with market demand.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive business for the hotel, focusing on corporate, group, leisure, and event segments.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agencies, corporate accounts, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling promotions, packages, and campaigns that attract and retain guests.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to adjust strategies as needed.
- Oversee the development and execution of sales presentations, proposals, and contracts.
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage Director to ensure seamless execution of meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Report regularly to the General Manager and management on sales activities, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Represent the hotel at industry events and networking functions to promote the property and build brand awareness.
- Ensure that all sales activities are compliant with local laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a senior sales leadership role.
- Proven track record of success in driving hotel sales, particularly in a pre-opening environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a sales team to achieve ambitious goals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the local market and the hospitality industry.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems.
