The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility.

Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the

Member Service Representative

will assist with all aspects of member enrollment, program participant registration, facility access control, and ensuring top-tier customer service. Other responsibilities include maintaining the accuracy of membership data, answering phone calls, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and café areas.

The

Member Service Representative

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and program participants both in-person and over the phone, supporting member retention efforts\nAbility to process membership applications and take photos for membership cards, ensuring accuracy in spelling and preventing duplicates in the system\nConduct interviews and tours tailored to the needs of prospective members; effectively promoting and selling memberships.\nProficient in accurately managing cash flow and maintaining the cash drawer at the work station, with full responsibility for its contents\nSafeguard the safety and security of staff, members, and volunteers by diligently monitoring the scan station to ensure all individuals scan their ID upon entry; and properly addressing any \"invalid memberships\"\nBuild strong relationships with members, and the YMCA community; facilitating connections among them\nAddress and resolve membership concerns; promptly notifying the supervisor of any unusual situations or unresolved issues\nAdhere to the Y's dress code, including wearing a name tag, staff shirt, black or khaki pants, and comfortable shoes or sneakers (no open-toe shoes for safety reasons)\nAttend monthly Staff Meetings on Saturday or Sunday evening - when required\nBenefits Include:
