I’m working with a growing government-focused cybersecurity consulting firm helping federal agencies tackle complex cyber challenges. They are seeking a Business Development Director to lead federal opportunity identification, capture, and pipeline management, driving growth and enabling mission impact. This is a commission-eligible role, and you’ll work closely with executive leadership, technical teams, and proposal staff to own the federal pipeline and convert opportunities into revenue.
This is a
hybrid role based in Arlington, VA .
Key Responsibilities
Lead federal business development strategy and maintain a high-quality opportunity pipeline
Conduct Bid/No-Bid analyses, competitive research, and customer requirement assessments
Develop win themes, differentiators, and value propositions for priority pursuits
Build and manage teaming relationships with primes, subcontractors, and technology partners
Engage federal customers and represent the company at industry events
Collaborate with proposal and technical teams to support capture planning and opportunity shaping
Refine BD processes, best practices, and tools to support scalable growth
Requirements
7+ years of federal business development, capture, or consulting experience
Proven success identifying, qualifying, and advancing federal contract opportunities
Strong knowledge of federal acquisition lifecycle, procurement processes, and contract vehicles (GWACs, IDIQs, BPAs, etc.)
Experience with BD tools like GovWin, SAM.gov, or GSA eBuy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting small business set‑asides (8(a), SDVOSB, HUBZone, etc.)
Prior experience with IT, cybersecurity, cloud, or professional services contracts
Existing relationships within civilian or defense federal agencies
