Bolton Gate Arts is a collaborative, community focused arts organisation working to create a multi-disciplinary programme of outdoor arts events where people can relax, learn and explore. We work with communities across Stoke-on-Trent and the Staffordshire Moorlands championing accessibility, inclusivity and art for all. Based at Bolton Gate Farm on the outskirts of Weston Coyney, our events consist of a rich and varied programme of live outdoor theatre, music, artisan markets, craft workshops, art exhibitions, schools-based projects and much more. We are always on the lookout for creative individuals to work with supporting and enriching the cultural landscape of our local community.

Bolton Gate Arts Volunteers assist with the smooth running of all of our outdoor events, ensuring the safety and comfort of all of our guests. Events include outdoor theatre, markets, music nights, craft activities, workshops and more.

It is a casual commitment in a fun and supportive environment and our volunteers act as ambassadors for the company across all of our events, showcasing and promoting our work in the community.

Roles are allocated amongst our volunteers and include:

Setting up and packing down events

Running the box office

Parking assistance

Directing and assisting customers around the farm

Photography and more

Skills desired:

Good communication skills, with a welcoming and friendly attitude.

Commitment to providing an excellent and inclusive customer service experience for all visitors.

Ability to support people of all ages and abilities, including young children and families, and people with English as a second language.

Team working and willingness to help others.

Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills.

Ability to adapt and be flexible.

Ability to work using your own initiative and to follow procedures.

Minimum age 18.

Training and expenses:

Full training will be provided as part of your role

You will be required to complete mandatory training before beginning the role covering topics such as confidentiality and safeguarding.

Volunteers will be offered a free lunch along with coffees/teas when volunteering at Bolton Gate Farm, courtesy of Bolton Gate Café.

Volunteers will get free tickets to all theatre shows throughout the season, invitations to company events as well as discounts and offers for both Bolton Gate Arts and Bolton Gate Café.
