
Client Engagement and Community Outreach Coordinator

The Client Engagement and Community Outreach Coordinator plays a critical role in planning, implementing, and supporting mission-driven programs and services for individuals impacted by cancer. This position works closely with internal staff, volunteers, community partners and healthcare providers to ensure programs are accessible, well-coordinated, and responsive to community needs.
This role also serves as a key coordinator for Connect Program camps and retreats, which take place annually from May through September. During camp and retreat season, the coordinator supports volunteer management, logistics, and daily operations in collaboration with the Director of Client Engagement.
Essential Job Functions Program Planning and Execution:
Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of cancer support programs, outreach events, and client services.
Monitor program timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
Ensure programs align with organizational goals and reflect the needs of the cancer community.
Coordinate program logistics, including venue reservations, materials preparation, speaker scheduling, and technology setup.
Community Engagement & Outreach:
Serve as a liaison to clients, caregivers, volunteers, and community partners.
Promote program participation through presentations, community events, tabling opportunities, and direct outreach to clients and partners.
Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, and nonprofit partners.
Create and maintain a Community Partner Referral List to support client access to resources.
Data and Reporting:
Track program participation, feedback, and outcomes using internal databases and tools.
Complete accurate data entry for all Connect Program events and outreach activities in the organization’s client database.
Use evaluation data to recommend program improvements and enhancements.
CampCARE Coordination:
Ensure all volunteers complete volunteer applications and background checks.
Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers during camp weeks.
Coordinate daily camp operations, including attendance sheets, schedules, and organization-led activities.
Assist with the creation of Camp Counselor training manuals.
Coordinate with vendors and community partners.
Support camp setup and cleanup before and after camp weekends.
Assist with volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement for programs and events.
Support preparation and facilitation of new volunteer orientations.
Coordinate volunteer assignments and ensure positive engagement experiences.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
Relevant professional or lived experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and program management tools (e.g., CRM systems, databases, scheduling platforms).
Experience working with cancer patients or healthcare-related services preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Experience with virtual platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
Work Environment and Schedule This position typically works Monday through Friday, 9 am-5 pm. Evening and weekend hours are expected and may occur multiple times per month to support community outreach events, programs, and camps. Schedule flexibility is essential for this role. Shift time is provided to ensure a 40-hour work week, recognizing the non-exempt status of the position and the need to adjust hours when evening or weekend work occurs.
Multi-staff office setting with desk and necessary equipment provided.
Reliable, independent transportation required for local travel for programming activities and needs.
Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and 401(k).
The office is closed one week in December for additional paid holiday time off.
Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000
