Position Summary The Business Development Specialist is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and developing new business opportunities across business, commercial, and military aviation platforms. This role works cross‑functionally with Engineering, Planning, Operations, and Sales teams to identify new product opportunities, expand repair capabilities, and drive revenue growth.

The ideal candidate combines aviation MRO knowledge with strong analytical skills and relationship‑building ability to support existing customers while proactively pursuing new opportunities. The role requires generating actionable market intelligence, supporting government and commercial contract pursuits, and contributing directly to strategic growth initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct detailed market research and analysis to identify target products, platforms, and growth opportunities for the Sales team.

Identify and evaluate military and government contracting opportunities using SASPO reports, annual RPOW reports, SAM.gov, and other relevant databases.

Support proposal development and pricing packages for new business opportunities, including coordination of pricing data, technical exhibits, subcontractor agreements, and required documentation.

Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to assess feasibility of new repair capabilities and expansion initiatives.

Develop and implement operational procedures and work instructions related to assigned business development projects.

Provide guidance on policies and procedures related to military component contracts and government compliance requirements.

Maintain regular communication with customers, suppliers, competitors, and industry organizations to monitor trends and identify opportunities.

Analyze industry, geographic, regulatory, and technology trends to support strategic planning and product development initiatives.

Generate business intelligence reports summarizing financial, market, and operational data for executive leadership.

Identify and track current and prospective customers using CRM and business intelligence tools.

Develop dashboards, databases, and reporting tools to support sales strategy and performance tracking.

Analyze competitive positioning, market share, and pricing strategies.

Support sales presentations and executive briefings with data‑driven insights.

Generate and distribute qualified sales leads to the Inside and Outside Sales teams.

Skills & Abilities Education Bachelor’s Degree (four‑year college or technical school) in Business, Aviation, Engineering, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), preferably with aircraft component repair experience. Experience supporting military or government contracts is strongly preferred.

Computer Skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, reporting)

Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word

Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM systems preferred

Familiarity with government procurement platforms (e.g., SAM.gov) strongly preferred
