Sales Intern
In more than 20 cities around the world, our nearly 1,000 employees are distributing electronic components with 24 hour coverage. With sales over $12.9 billion over the last five years, we're always on the move. Since our founding in 1984, Smith has grown exponentially to source, inspect and distribute electronic components for an array of industries (automotive, solar, medical devices, oil and gas, etc) as well as provide supply chain solutions such as counterfeit testing, vendor inventory management and sustainable hardware disposition. We're excited to meet you and share what we love about Smith! The qualified candidate will work Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week. Our Sales Interns are immersed in a vigorous environment with direct access to senior sales representatives and managers in an open working environment that is designed to encourage the free flow of ideas and information. Sales Interns gain familiarity with the physical flow of commodities in both domestic and international markets and an understanding of Smith's position in a global market. Sales activities are conducted through various cities around the world thus our Sales Interns directly impact both sales and deliveries of commodities to customers around the globe. Responsibilities
Develop lead generation skills through researching and utilizing tools such as Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo Learn the full sales cycle through hands on experience prospecting for customers, cold calling or emailing, negotiating prices and following up throughout the process for status updates or changes Navigate the CRM to input customers and potentially revive dormant accounts Collaborate with additional departments such as procurement and operations to negotiate prices, close deals, track shipments, etc Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor's in business, sales, industrial distribution or a related field Participation in extracurricular activities to demonstrate time management and multitasking skills Dates: Monday, June 1st to Friday, August 7th (10 weeks) Location: Fully in office - One Penn Plaza - 250 West 34th Street, Suite 4516 New York, NY, US 10119 Hourly Rate: $20 Number of Openings: 1 Students with F-1 visas should consult with their designated school official (DSO) before applying.
