This is a direct hire, full-time onsite position based in Seattle, WA.

Position Overview

SGL is seeking a proactive Domestic Freight Forwarding Specialist to manage end-to-end domestic operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of freight forwarding activities from initiating shipment booking and processing orders, providing customer service, coordinating with vendors, carriers, dispatch, managing documentation, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery. This role offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with various freight forwarding experience who want to grow their career in domestic operations while gaining broad exposure across all aspects of the workflow.

Job Description
  • Manage full domestic shipment lifecycle, prioritizing on-time delivery and order accuracy.
  • Coordinate multimodal freight movement across a diverse network of vendors, carriers, and dispatch teams.
  • Prepare all essential transportation paperwork (MAWBs, HAWBs, LTL BOLs) with high attention to detail.
  • Serve as the primary escalation lead for shipment tracking, tracing, and conflict resolution.
  • Execute continuous improvement projects to align regional operations with long-term business goals.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Proven expertise in freight forwarding, domestic operations, or 3PL environments required.
  • Modes of Transport: Extensive knowledge of multi-modal freight operations, including air, ocean (Alaska/Hawaii), and land/inland transportation.
  • Compliance & Safety: Demonstrated competency in handling, documenting, and transporting dangerous goods (DG) in compliance with 49CFR regulations.
  • Bonded Cargo: Experience managing bonded freight, bonded warehouses, or navigating customs-bonded processes.
  • Operations & Coordination: Capable of managing end-to-end shipment lifecycles and coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass TSA and Background eligibility screening
