Job Description Position Type: 40 hours/week (August-May); 30 hours/week (June 1–July 31)
Brownell Talbot, founded in 1863, is a Nebraska state‑approved preschool through grade 12 school and member of NAIS and ISACS.
Position Summary The Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to the Lower School Dean and Activity Director plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the Lower School. This position is often the first point of contact for families, visitors, and vendors, and requires a warm, professional, and highly organized individual who thrives in a dynamic school environment.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and front‑office support to the Lower School Dean and Activity Director
Answer and direct internal and external phone calls; greet and assist visitors, families, and vendors
Maintain the school bulletin, calendar, student records, and daily Lower School attendance
Assist with scheduling and coordinate field‑trip transportation
Support school programs, including the Raider Market
Print, file, and transfer student records and report cards
Qualifications
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of five years of administrative experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills

Collaborative, cooperative, and collegial mindset
Physical Requirements
Able to sit, stand, type, twist, and bend
Able to use computers and laptops
Able to lift 25–50 lbs.
