Countermeasures is a dynamic sales organization headquartered in Franklin, TN that partners with breweries, distilleries, and beverage suppliers to deliver long‑term success strategies. Our services include Shared Sales Representatives, Key Account Management, Expansion, and Retail Marketing services. We are on the hunt for our next Spirit Sales Specialist!
The Spirit Sales Specialist is a full‑time, on‑site position based in
Houston, TX.
This role will focus on driving sales in the spirits category, building relationships with wholesale partners, retail accounts, and consumers to ensure brand growth and visibility. The specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, conducting tastings and promotional events, and achieving sales targets. They will also leverage CRM tools to track progress and provide detailed insights into market performance.
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
Actively selling and promoting a variety of spirits to retail accounts, higher‑end restaurants, and on‑premise venues
Planning and executing in‑store tastings, promotional events, and trade shows to increase brand awareness
Conducting staff training sessions at accounts to ensure thorough product knowledge and proper brand representation
Visiting 40 accounts per week to ensure product availability, visibility, and develop strong relationships with customers
Utilizing CRM software (VIP KARMA) to track and monitor sales as well as report on achievements
Attending supplier meetings and submitting weekly recaps to leadership
Meeting and exceeding monthly KPIs and sales goals
Qualifications:
3‑5 years of experience selling spirits
Proven ability to build relationships with wholesalers, retailers, and on‑premise accounts, particularly higher‑end restaurants and establishments
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and close deals effectively
Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet sales targets
Comfortable selling a variety of spirits and adapting to different customer needs
Experience with CRM software, preferably VIP KARMA or Encompass
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work nights, weekends, and flexible hours for tastings, trainings, and promotional events
Expert knowledge of the Greater Houston area
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is preferred
