
Responsibilities
Monitor and manage patient accounts with outstanding balances.
Contact patients via phone, email, and other channels to arrange payment plans or collect overdue amounts.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies, insurance denials, and payment posting issues.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations.
Document all collection activities accurately in the system.
Collaborate with internal teams (Billing, Customer Support, Clinical) to resolve account issues.
Provide clear and empathetic communication to patients regarding their financial responsibilities.
Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years in medical collections, healthcare billing, or revenue cycle management.
Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes, and HIPAA compliance.
Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing software.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
Prior experience in a fast‑paced healthcare or telehealth setting.
Job Details Type & Location: Contract to Hire, Kennewick, WA. Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
