Job Title: 166860 – Epic Tapestry Health Systems Trainer Location: Grand Rapids, MI Work Type: Hybrid (Intermittent Onsite Required) Start Date: 03/08/2026 Assignment End Date: 10/31/2026 Status: Temp to Perm (opportunity to extend or convert to permanent based on business needs) Schedule: Full-Time | Standard Business Hours (Occasional weekend training and possible daytime or overnight travel required) Pay Rate: $77.32 per hour Expenses: Travel expenses allowed when applicable Equipment: Equipment provided or VDI access available
Position Overview
The Epic Tapestry Health Systems Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality training and implementation support focused primarily on Epic Tapestry and other health system applications. This role includes classroom instruction, one-on-one training, virtual sessions, and at-the-elbow support during system implementation and optimization initiatives.
This is a non-clinical role requiring strong instructional design capabilities, Epic build knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The trainer will support end users through operational change, maintain training documentation, and track training participation and completion metrics.
Hybrid Work Expectations
This role requires intermittent onsite presence between late March 2026 and August 14, 2026.
Anticipated maximum of up to four (4) weeks onsite during this period
Occasional weekend training may be required
Daytime or overnight travel may be required
Candidates must be comfortable with flexible scheduling based on implementation needs.
Essential Responsibilities
Conduct classroom, one-on-one, virtual, and at-the-elbow training with a focus on Epic Tapestry and related health systems
Provide implementation support and assist with operational change management
Partner with training team members and subject matter experts to develop audience-specific training materials
Develop traditional instructor-led and computer-based curriculum materials
Create and maintain project documentation including:
Work plans
Status reports
Risk assessments
Participate in project teams to understand scope and deliver training strategy
Test training environments and validate system functionality
Edit, assemble, and distribute course materials
Manage classroom setup, training rosters, and track training completion
Organize and report on registration and attendance metrics
Establish and maintain communication with super users
Assist users during go-live and system transitions
Required Qualifications
Epic Tapestry Certification (active at time of hire) – REQUIRED
MST Build Certification – REQUIRED
Experience in Instructional Design and Training – REQUIRED
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Associate’s Degree (required)
Ability to support hybrid work with intermittent onsite training
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Ability to work in structured project environments
Experience with classroom facilitation and adult learning principles
Ability to manage multiple training sessions and deadlines simultaneously
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Digital literacy and ability to work in system-based training environments
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience with:
Articulate
Camtasia
Canva
Vyond
Project Management experience
Experience supporting large-scale Epic implementations
Experience working with super users and cross-functional operational teams
Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting
Occasional standing and walking
Seldom lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs
Frequent hand/finger dexterity
Occasional bending or reaching
Important Assignment Information
Timesheets must be submitted weekly by Monday at 11:59 a.m. through the designated portal
Manager approval is required for payment processing
Failure to submit accurate timesheets within 45 days of the pay cycle may result in non-payment for services rendered
Rate changes must be implemented in the system prior to the effective week
Candidates must be comfortable with structured time tracking and compliance processes.
