Email Marketing Specialist
FishNook Tinned Seafood Co., Denver, Colorado, United States, 80285
Email Marketing Specialist (Part-Time) — FishNook Tinned Seafood Co.
Denver, CO | Hybrid/Remote | 24-35 hrs/week | $27–$32/hr ($34K–$58K annualized)
About FishNook FishNook Tinned Seafood Co. is a fast-growing, Denver-based premium conservas (tinned seafood) brand on a mission to make restaurant-quality Spanish and Portuguese seafood accessible to bold eaters everywhere. We're a curator, educator, and storyteller—bringing the world's finest tinned fish from artisan producers directly to customers' doors and onto the shelves of specialty retailers nationwide.
We've grown from a scrappy startup to approaching seven figures in annual revenue, powered by a passionate community of food lovers, a thriving subscription program, and expanding wholesale partnerships. Our team is small, nimble, and obsessed with quality—and we're looking for someone who shares that energy to own our email marketing channel.
The Opportunity We're looking for a Part-Time Email Marketing Specialist to take ownership of our Klaviyo account and become the driving force behind customer retention, engagement, and lifecycle marketing. This is a hands‑on role where you'll build and optimize email flows, design campaigns that convert, and collaborate directly with the founder on marketing strategy.
This role starts as a focused email marketing position, but for the right person, it has a clear path to grow into a broader marketing role encompassing social media, content strategy, and brand development as FishNook scales.
What You'll Own
Serve as the primary owner of our Klaviyo account, managing all campaigns, flows, segments, and reporting
Audit, redesign, and implement automated email flows including welcome series, post‑purchase sequences, abandoned cart recovery, win‑back campaigns, browse abandonment, and VIP nurture tracks
Reorganize and optimize post‑purchase customer touchpoints to maximize retention, repeat purchases, and subscription conversions
Build and maintain a segmented audience strategy based on purchase behavior, engagement level, subscription status, and product preferences
Monitor deliverability metrics, list health, and compliance best practices
Campaign Design & Execution
Design visually compelling, on‑brand email templates and campaign assets using Canva, Figma, Photoshop, or similar tools
Plan, build, and deploy weekly/biweekly email campaigns aligned with the marketing calendar (product launches, seasonal promotions, content drops, wholesale highlights)
Write or collaborate on engaging email copy that reflects FishNook’s voice: approachable, knowledgeable, and unapologetically food‑obsessed
A/B test subject lines, layouts, CTAs, and send times to continuously improve open rates, click‑through rates, and revenue per email
Collaborate with the CEO on monthly/quarterly marketing calendar planning and campaign prioritization
Coordinate with external partners (media agency, content creators) to align email efforts with paid acquisition and organic strategies
Report on key email KPIs (revenue attribution, open/click rates, list growth, subscriber LTV) with actionable insights and recommendations
Stay current on email marketing trends, Klaviyo platform updates, and DTC/food industry best practices
What We’re Looking For Required:
2+ years of hands‑on experience managing email marketing in Klaviyo, ideally for a DTC or ecommerce brand
Demonstrated proficiency building and optimizing Klaviyo flows and automated sequences
Strong design skills with tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Photoshop, or equivalent—you can take a campaign from concept to polished creative
Solid understanding of email marketing fundamentals: segmentation, personalization, deliverability, A/B testing, and lifecycle marketing
Data‑driven mindset with the ability to interpret campaign analytics and translate them into strategic improvements
Excellent written communication and an eye for brand‑consistent design
Self‑starter who thrives in a small‑team, fast‑paced environment with minimal hand‑holding
Preferred (Bonus Points):
Experience in the food & beverage, CPG, or specialty food industry
Familiarity with Shopify and ReCharge (or similar subscription platforms)
Experience with SMS marketing within Klaviyo
Comfort with light copywriting and brand voice development
Interest in or experience with social media marketing (Instagram, TikTok) as a secondary skill set
Passion for food, wine, and the craft conservas movement
Why FishNook
Join a brand at an inflection point—your work will have direct, measurable impact on revenue and growth
Flexible, part‑time schedule that respects your time while keeping you close to the action
Clear growth path into a broader marketing role as the company scales
Work directly with the founder—no layers of bureaucracy, fast decisions, and real ownership
Premium product you can genuinely be proud of—our customers are passionate and loyal
How to Apply Please include with your application:
Resume or LinkedIn profile highlighting relevant email marketing experience
Portfolio of past email work (campaign screenshots, flow diagrams, performance results, design samples)—this is important to us and will be a key factor in our decision
Brief note (2–3 sentences) on why FishNook excites you and what you’d tackle first in our Klaviyo account
