The Associate Director of Global Citizenship Media Relations is an integral part of Latham’s Brand & Communications team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing media relations and brand communications strategies for the firm, including crisis and public affairs–oriented initiatives, and supporting leadership, while developing and executing strategic media relations to promote the firm’s brand, culture, values, and citizenship programs, including the firm’s market-leading pro bono, inclusion and belonging, and environmental sustainability programs. This role will be located in either our New Yorkor Washington, DC office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include: Identifying and seeking opportunities to secure positive media coverage and co‑leading proactive media outreach campaigns Serving as a main point of contact for citizenship‑related media inquiries, including in support of pro bono matters, firm citizenship, and other programs that present brand opportunities or pose reputational risk Developing and implementing strategic communication plans, and providing functional support for the firm’s response plans, including developing protocols and templates to support real‑time issues management and cross‑functional communications responses Preparing communication materials to support the firm’s citizenship programs, including messaging, scenario planning, audience mapping, and monitoring, among other activities Managing day‑to‑day coordination with outside PR and communications agencies on global issues, including firm reputation and specific issues Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains We’d love to hear from you if you: Exhibit proven professional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, vendors, and staff throughout the firm Demonstrate the initiative to work both independently and in a team environment with a customer‑service focus Possess the ability to multi‑task and adapt to continuously evolving technology platforms And have: A minimum of twelve (12) years of progressively responsible PR and communications experience, in a professional services environment, preferably A minimum of twelve (12) years of cumulative experience A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public relations, communications, business administration, or related field Benefits & Additional Information
