Position Description Serves as Assistant Golf Professional at Aldeen Golf Club and Practice Center, working closely with the Head Golf Professional to oversee daily operations. Manages key areas including customer service, the golf software POS and reservation/registration systems, and seasonal staff. Coordinates golf outings and assists with special events. Provides support for instructional programs and delivers private golf lessons as needed.

Operational Excellence
Provide on-site supervision of Aldeen Golf Club and Practice Center as assigned, including serving as Manager on Duty (MOD).
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all departments and areas at Aldeen Golf Club, including seasonal team members.
Assist with day-to-day operations of the Aldeen Golf Club and Practice Center.
Provide oversight of monthly budgets and report variances to the Head Golf Professional as applicable.
Liaison for the Aldeen Men’s Golf Association (AMGA) and other leagues/customer groups, including event support and communication of rules/scoring.
Manage the GPS program for the cart fleet, including updates for course conditions, promotions, and surveys.
Help promote Aldeen as a premier golf club and family-friendly venue.
Provide content for social media with the Head Golf Professional.
Recruit, plan, and manage golf outings and events, coordinating with outings/events staff, Food & Beverage Operations, and other team members.
Provide private lessons.
Manage contracts and Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for the facility.
Work closely with Operational Systems and IS to support and troubleshoot golf POS and reservation software; serve as on-call MOD for system issues.
Assist with the facility calendar for events as needed.
Manage the facility scheduling software and ensure team members are properly trained.
Manage the phone system, update message trees, and ensure calls/messages are returned in a timely manner (typically within 24 hours).
Develop, analyze, and implement new programs based on trends and industry standards to increase revenue and maintain existing programs.
Assist with preparing reports and other business data for Aldeen and other courses as needed.
Work with restaurant and pavilion tenants to ensure customer service standards and policy compliance are maintained.
Ensure restrooms, clubhouse, Pro Shop, and all public areas are cleaned regularly and meet Park District standards.
Record and report monthly progress toward goals and recommend areas for improvement.
Assist Director of Operations as needed to provide consistency for business functions.
Performance Management / Development
Recruit, hire, train, coach, schedule, and evaluate seasonal team members for assigned departments/areas.
Monitor and evaluate team member performance and document performance as needed.
Provide coaching, encouragement, direction, and corrective action in accordance with District policies and procedures.
Participate in disciplinary and termination actions when necessary, including implementing the District’s recognition/reward program.
Provide training and development opportunities that enhance team member skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Manage time, attendance tracking, and approval of seasonal employee hours.
Recommend and organize team members and operations to meet current and future needs.
Attend trainings, seminars, and conferences to enhance personal development.
Assist Head Golf Professional in organizing one-on-ones, meetings, and presentations to enhance communication with staff or community groups.
Compliance
Assist the Head Golf Professional in ensuring staff implements all PDRMA procedures, policies, checklists, training, and documentation to meet risk management requirements.
Maintain working knowledge of department safety procedures and attend required safety trainings and in-service programs.
Required to attend and participate in District meetings, including Rockford Park District Board meetings, when requested.
Customer Satisfaction
Provide quality customer service to all patrons, guests, and District employees.
Ensure a superior customer experience through service knowledge, flexibility, thoroughness, and professionalism.
Quickly and effectively resolve customer concerns to ensure satisfaction.

Work in cooperation with the Golf Team to strengthen overall operations of Aldeen Golf Club.

Assist with day-of operations for leagues, outings, and events as needed.
Responsible for being the Media Spokesperson when serving as Manager on Duty.
Fill in as needed for operational coverage (starters, rangers, cart attendants, etc.).
Cash Control
Maintain knowledge of the computer cash register system and credit card operations.
Assist with checking patrons in for tee times and performing cashier duties as needed.
Perform cashier and other golf program duties as needed.
Requirements Education / Experience
Bachelor Degree in Business Management and/or 3-5 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
PGA/LPGA Professional Preferred.
Critical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
