Essential Ingredients

Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivatedBusiness Development Representative (BDR) to grow our business with small tomid-sized Personal Care accounts. The BDR runs the full sales cycle includingprospecting, pipeline development, ideating technical solutions, and closingdeals. This role is a great opportunity launch a career in the world ofchemical sales for candidates with strong sales instincts, grit, and a growthmindset.
Candidates must be based in a potential field sales market (LosAngeles, Midwest, Northeast), or willing to relocate for career growthopportunity within 2-3 years.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities
Prospect for new business through proactivecustomer identification and communication. Utilize internal resources fordeveloping business with a “one more SKU” mentality. Identify insights in attrition reports andactions necessary for recovery of position. Collaborate with technicalresources for development and progression of key projects.
Pursue new business leads, including samplerequests, phone/email/web product inquiries, and requests for quote. Qualifyand follow up on leads with a focus on new business growth and customersatisfaction/retention.
Master foundational sales skills and coresubject matter through strong initiative in professional development, includingparticipation and contribution in regular Ei technical and sales trainings.
Qualifications
Sales as “first foot forward” – a drive to addvalue for our customers by identifying a match between their needs and ourproducts/services
A bias for action – comfortable getting “in thearena” day in and day out through calling customers, handling rejection, andshowing resilience
Strong emotional intelligence and ability toengage with broad range of clients/stakeholders
Strong organizational skills and grit – able to manage a high volume of tasks and competing priorities
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, orbusiness preferred
Experience in chemical sales, marketing, orrelated functions preferred
Role involves limited travel, primarily forinternal sales events and training approximately once per quarter.
