
Job Purpose or Objective(s):
Responsible for data collection to ensure adherence to standards of confidentiality and assists in the overall organization and operation of the Courts.
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Primary Tasks:
Prepare and maintain case files within the General Jurisdictional Court under the supervision of the Chief Judge and Associate Judges of the Court.
Maintain detailed records of court proceedings, including identification of the title and nature of the case, names of parties, substance of complaint, date of hearings and trials, court and jury rulings, findings, orders and judgments and any other facts or circumstances deemed of importance.
Maintain pleadings, documents and other materials filed with the Courts.
Maintain evidentiary materials, transcripts and records of testimony filed with the Court.
Collect and account for fines and other moneys and properties taken into custody of the Courts.
Prepare and serve notices, summons, subpoenas, warrants, rulings, findings, opinions and orders.
Assist in the drafting and execution of complaints, petitions, answers motions and other pleadings and documents for Court proceedings.
Administer oaths and witnessing execution of documents.
Notify parties of court proceedings in a timely manner.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
Associates Degree in legal or related studies
Knowledge of court procedures
Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills
Ability to deal tactfully with the public, work under stressful conditions
Ability to prioritize and complete numerous duties accurately in a limited time frame while assisting the Justice on the bench
Excellent office skills including typing, word processing, data entry, maintain files and using various office machines
Proficient in following oral and written instructions with limited supervision
Two years’ experience in secretarial or office management
