
Warner Mechanical - Mechanical Estimator

Warner Mechanical, a Division of R.W. Warner, Inc., is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical construction projects. This role involves reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting vendor and subcontractor pricing, and supporting project teams through the bidding and preconstruction process.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate mechanical estimates Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related systems Prepare complete cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids Analyze historical data to improve estimate accuracy Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams during bid preparation Assist with bid presentations and post-bid reviews Maintain organized estimating files and databases Required Qualifications
3+ years' experience in mechanical estimating or related construction role Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with estimating software (QSOFT, Bluebeam, Excel) Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Experience with speculative budgeting, design-build, and negotiated projects Familiarity with local codes and industry standards Field experience in mechanical construction Benefits & Other Offerings
