As a Route Setter, you will have the responsibility of delivering a safe customer experience in line with our Chelsea Piers Standards of Excellence.

Responsibilities:

Route Setting:

Design and set routes and boulder problems that cater to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced climbers. Rotate and update routes regularly to ensure a fresh and engaging climbing experience for our members. Collaborate with fellow setters to create a diverse range of climbing challenges that align with our gym's goals. Safety and Standards:

Secure a safe setting area. Adhere to industry safety standards and guidelines while setting routes. Conduct regular inspections of climbing holds, anchors, and safety equipment to ensure they meet safety requirements. Provide guidance on proper climbing techniques and safety procedures to gym members. Communication:

Collaborate with rock wall manager and rock wall staff to gather feedback on route quality and preferences. Communicate effectively with the rock wall manager and rock wall staff. Training and Development:

Stay informed about industry trends, new climbing techniques, and equipment to continuously enhance route-setting skills. Qualifications:

Previous experience as a route setter in a climbing gym is required. Strong climbing skills with a deep understanding of climbing movement and techniques. Familiarity with a variety of climbing holds, equipment, and safety protocols. Creativity and a passion for designing challenging and engaging climbing routes. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a diverse team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
