About The Opportunity Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a dynamic, hard-working Assistant Camp Director to join our Summer Camp Team. Chelsea Piers Summer Camp in Manhattan offers an engaging and challenging sports summer camp program for children aged preschool and up in our state-of-the-art athletic facilities. The Assistant Camp Director wears many hats in overseeing our Summer Camp Programs and has the opportunity to learn all parts of the Chelsea Piers business. Working as the Assistant Camp Director is a great way to gain experience and start your career at a world-class, growing sports and fitness company.

The Assistant Director will be expected to work five days a week starting April 1st through Labor Day. Some weeks will include remote weekend work on Saturday or Sunday.

As the Assistant Camp Director, you will be expected to:

Attend Department of Health Summer Camp Director Orientation

Manage and coordinate Summer Camp Transportation Program

Manage and schedule Summer Camp Office Staff

Provide orientation and training to Summer Camp Office Staff

Learn and manage Summer Camp Online System

Promote and sell Chelsea Piers Summer Camp

Manage camper registration, payment, and medical data

Provide excellent customer service to camp parents, on the phone, via email, and face-to-face

Work with Camp Directors and staff to troubleshoot and solve problems

Coordinate transportation schedule and daily transportation needs

Assigning Bus Counselors

Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications About You:

You are professional, punctual, and friendly. You have exceptional customer service on the phone, via email, and face-to-face.

A working knowledge and comfort with basic business technology systems

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with children and parents

Ability to be flexible and remain calm and alert in stressful situations while remaining positive and energetic

A neat and tidy appearance
