Description C2 ALASKA, LLC’s Paralegal III Senior Division of Enforcement will provide legal research and litigation support to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Division of Enforcement.

The SEC’s Division of Enforcement utilizes a variety of data that contain current, historical and futures information about sensitive public company data, mutual fund data, and trade/quote data.

Responsibilities

Compiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Summarizes depositions and other transcripts.

Compares and reconciles financial statements and related information of public companies.

Conducts comparative analysis and other trend analysis.

Reviews routing documents and verifies the accuracy of data.

Maintains case files; performs simple or compiles legal research; indexes, tracks, and controls document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery).

Indexes, tracks, and controls exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial.

May synopsize transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use.

Reviews case-related materials and, for example, identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation.

Writes preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence.

Prepares exhibit cross‑references.

Reviews documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria.

Record keeping and scheduling of rulemaking process using SharePoint system.

Compiles documents for FOIA, production requests, Congressional inquiries, etc.

Prepares spreadsheets, charts, and other summaries of financial and other data under the direction of attorneys and accountants.

Travel may be required.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college, university, or educational institution recognized by the US Department of Education.

Paralegal Certificate.

Minimum six (6) years of Paralegal experience with a specialty in Litigation (Trial).

Ability to provide favorable credit history.

Possess and use excellent oral and written communications skills.

Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures.

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as legal software such as Lexis Nexis and/or Westlaw.

Experience interviewing witnesses and supporting attorneys during trial, including courtroom locations.

Experience drafting and reviewing various legal documents such as motions, briefs, subpoenas, legal memoranda, and correspondence for attorneys.

Ability to prepare and organize exhibits for use during depositions and trial.

Experience conducting various types of research related to laws, legal articles, and other information relevant to a case using Lexis Nexis or Westlaw.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing work product.

Keen sense of accountability and taking ownership over projects.

Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, flexibility in shifting focus.

Ability to work effectively in an extremely pressured and deadline‑driven environment.

Possess a professional demeanor and can collaborate well with all team members and staff.
