This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Summit Club, set outside of Las Vegas, NV. Summit Club is seeking a Porter to join the Residential Services Department. The Porter will be responsible to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Clubhouse facilities, including restrooms, public areas, and common areas. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees. Key Responsibilities
Club Porter Clean restrooms, foyer space, and furniture as assigned Utilize specialty equipment complying with all safety and procedural guidelines Polish, restore, seal, finish & maintain all flooring, including marble, granite, etc Complete extraction and spotting of carpets Complete high & low dusting of ceiling vents, wall decorations, etc Use various machines such as carpet extractors, scrubbers (ride-on and walk-behind) Burnishers, floor machines, lifts, wet/dry vacuums, spotting machines Operate hand trucks and flatbed carts to move equipment to assigned work areas Use proper techniques and equipment when moving heavy furniture to clean the area underneath Properly use and dispose of chemicals when conducting area cleaning Conduct bio-hazard clean-up Must have the ability to move furniture, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally Other duties as assigned Banquet Porter Provide courteous and professional service and proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, and other event equipment Retrieve materials needed for setup for special events quickly and efficiently Ensure all venues are well-maintained and cleaned prior to and/or after an event; assist with inventory control of catering equipment and furniture Communicate with supervisor verbally and in writing throughout the shift to ensure proper notification and follow-through of tasks Provide prompt, courteous service to banquet members while maintaining a friendly atmosphere Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in all banquet service areas and for all banquet service equipment Safely drive and maintain vehicles available for transporting event materials Demonstrate full knowledge of banquet areas and keep banquet service areas properly stocked and cleaned Assist other banquet staff as needed and perform side work and other cleaning and organizing Qualifications
Prior experience and proven success in the hospitality or service industry is strongly preferred Prior housekeeping experience preferred Prior special events set up / tear down experience preferred Additional Requirements
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands Ability to work in a team environment Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest times Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods greater than eight hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than 50 pounds Benefits
