Arterra Landscape Architects is seeking a full-time Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer in the process of licensure with 5+ years of experience to join our team in San Francisco. Applicants should be experienced and interested in working on large-scale residential projects.

Arterra specializes in the creation of legacy residential landscapes, from urban settings to estates. Arterra is focused on creative exploration and knowledge building. We place a high importance on mentoring and developing the next generation of design leaders. At Arterra, our landscape architects work directly with the senior landscape architects on projects from conceptual design through construction.

Landscape Architect Job Description:

Works directly with Senior Landscape Architect

Understands and supports design vision for each project to render conceptual studies and develop 3D models

Understands and can deliver the product work required for design development and construction documents

Responsible for maintaining job files (paper and digital)

Responsible for maintaining current drawing sets in files & binders at all times

Assists in identifying and sourcing materials, colors and finishes

We are a hybrid office, with employees working in the office three days per week and the option to WFH Tuesday and every other Thursday, subject to project demands.

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:

5+ years experience in landscape architecture

Licensed or in process of licensure

BA/ BS undergraduate degree

Familiar with Mac OS

Authorized to legally work in the US

Qualities desired for this position:

Creative, open-minded and innovative thinking, with a sophisticated design eye

Fluent in conceptual sketching, formal hand drawing, CAD drafting and 3D rendering

Ability to work in a team environment

Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch-up, Enscape & Vectorworks

Knowledge of California plants

Interest in new/sustainable materials and technologies

Project management experience a bonus
