Member Service Specialist, Manhattan, and Wamego, KS Member Service Specialists work in either the East (601 McCall Rd) or West (2600 Anderson Ave) Manhattan, KS, branch locations or in our Wamego, KS branch. Member Service Specialists provide coverage across all kstate CREDIT UNION branch locations as needed.
kstate CREDIT UNION is a relaxed yet fast-paced environment that is truly focused on serving our members. Family atmosphere that works as a team with one common purpose.
Hours of Operation are 8:45 am – 6:15 pm, Monday – Friday, and every other or rotating Saturdays from 8:45 am – 12:15 pm, with occasional weekday meetings that would begin at 8:00 a.m.

We at kstate CREDIT UNION are seeking Member Service Specialists to join our growing team to serve in our Manhattan and Wamego branches. If you are someone who would describe yourself as a go-getter, team player, and problem solver, and who enjoys a fun, energetic work environment, then this role is for you!
Applicants must be confident, have an outgoing personality, be detail-oriented, can multi-task, and offer solutions to meet the members’ needs. Teller experience is preferred but not required.

A day in the life of a Member Service Specialist I:
Welcome members to the CU, utilizing communication skills to make every entrance into the branch a warm and welcoming experience.
Serve members in-person, in the drive-thru, and over the phone, with teller transactions
Educate and serve members with products & services utilizing our sales as service culture.
Team members are required to meet monthly goals with opportunities to achieve financial incentives.
Provide excellent service to Credit Union members with their inquiries by building relationships using in-person, phone, and drive-thru services.
Consistently bring a positive and sales-minded attitude to identify and assess members’ financial needs with the goal of achieving member satisfaction and supporting all members and team members. This position seeks to provide solutions for members’ needs.
Maintain confidentiality in all kstate CREDIT UNION and member matters.
Present a positive image of the kstate CREDIT UNION through professional appearance and courteous attitude.
Member Service Specialist I attributes and skills:
Teamwork and the ability to communicate and listen
Highly effective communicator, both verbal and written
Ability to multitask with strong time-management skills and the ability to focus while managing multiple tasks
Ability to think critically and problem-solveAbility to exercise trust and diplomacy, in addition to normal courtesy and tact
Ability to build trust and rapport with others while fostering sound relationships
Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a positive, can-do attitude
Willingness to serve members and teammates while continuing to learn
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent GED
Six months to two (2) years of experience in Credit Unions or other financial institutions is preferred
At least 1 year of strong customer service experience
Cash Handling experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including active listening skills
Knowledgeable in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must be good with details, i.e. numbers and names
Must have excellent member service and sales etiquette
