The Senior Director, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services is responsible for the oversight, operational integrity, regulatory/legal compliance and financial performance for all Ambulatory/Outpatient

pharmacy programs including Hospital Outpatient, Specialty, Community, Central Fill and Command Center within the UR Medicine System and affiliated systems. This candidate will provide direction in Ambulatory/Outpatient

Pharmacy to include business development, operations management, clinical services, pharmacy data analytics, and pharmacy procurement/inventory

management. The Senior Director, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services in concert with the Chief Pharmacy Officer, develops the strategy for new Ambulatory Pharmacy program development and implementation across the system.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****Quality and Safety*** Assures highly reliable, safe pharmacy operations at all UR Medicine outpatient pharmacies, including the safe and effective implementation and utilization of technology and automation as appropriate.* Develops and implements policies and procedures across the UR Medicine outpatient pharmacy system to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations, accreditation standards and third-party payer requirements for the purpose of minimizing risk and exposure. This includes accreditation and licensing requirements and formal professional standards pertaining to drug distribution, utilization and control.* Reviews and manages all safety concerns identified relative to outpatient pharmacy services using a just culture approach in collaboration with institutional quality management professionals.**Patient and Family Centered Care*** Develops and implements pharmacy services that are patient- and family-centered consistent with ICARE values.* Promotes and rewards a culture of high quality and courteous care that is aimed at maximizing the patient experience.**Growth*** Identifies the needs within the UR Medicine system for expansion and improvement of outpatient pharmacy services. Ensures that appropriate growth of the department is maintained in keeping with the corresponding growth of the UR Medicine System. Coordinates the development and directs the implementation of new programs and services.* Identifies opportunities, and prepares business plans to further enhance pharmacy services by expansion of the 340B program within the UR Medicine system. Works collaboratively with the Director, 340B and Strategic Planning.* Actively participates in the strategic planning process for the Department of Pharmacy representing Ambulatory Pharmacy program development opportunities. Takes ownership for strategic directions and objectives as assigned for the growth and development of all Ambulatory Pharmacy Services systemwide.**People*** Oversight responsibility for recruitment and retention of staff for outpatient pharmacy programs, including the interview, hiring, training and supervision processes in compliance with University and institutional policies, and state and federal regulations in collaboration with HR business partners for the University and affiliates.* Recommends or approves action on hiring, terminations, promotions, salary and other related personnel matters.* Provides opportunities for the continuing education and development of professional and technical staff including participation in professional meetings, institutes and seminars as possible based on budget and schedule, and consistent with the operational and professional needs of the department.* Provides for the direct management, supervision, and development of managers across the system, as well as administrative staff who have a direct reporting relationship.* Assures the provision of timely and fair feedback and evaluation for all employees of the outpatient pharmacy programs according to university and institutional policies. Evaluations and feedback must be developmental and constructive including performance goals that are consistent with SMART standards.* Establishes, completes, and regularly updates a professional development plan consistent with a continuing professional development standard to assure continued personal and professional growth.* Represents UR Medicine at local, state, and national professional meetings and seminars, thereby keeping informed of new concepts of pharmacy practice, and trends in the profession, as well as contributing toward recruitment efforts to attract qualified professionals to the department.* Actively contributes to the organization and profession through participation on appropriate institution, professional organizational and partner organization (e.g. ASHP, GPO, etc) committees and task forces.**Finance*** Oversight and management responsibilities relative to budget performance for all Ambulatory Pharmacy operations. Budget variances are identified and reported to appropriate finance staff in a timely manner and according to institutional guidelines.* Contributes to the creation of the annual operating budget for all Ambulatory Pharmacy operations including business improvement and cost reduction targets.* Contributes to the annual capital budgeting for outpatient pharmacy programs, including the business plans for relevant capital requests.* Works collaboratively with system leaders to evaluate and optimize growth and 340B opportunities.**Infrastructure*** Develops plans relative to the upgrade and maintenance of facilities, equipment, automation and other components of the infrastructure necessary to support outpatient pharmacy operations.* Coordinates and oversees business plan development, implementation, renovation and construction planning, relocation, and evaluation of technology/automation

related to growth of services through regional expansion. Identifies, justifies, and recommends capital equipment requirements.* Develops and implements new programs throughout the system to expand pharmacy services in primary care and specialty areas.**System Integration*** Participate in strategic planning and project management/implementation

relative to integration or centralization of services to achieve efficiency in the UR Medicine system.* Engage in planning and project development relative to the redesign of ambulatory pharmacy services to meet the patient needs evolving from a growing network of providers under regional healthcare reform efforts of UR Medicine.* Create strategy on business, market growth, service development and payor/PBM strategies. * Participates with payer contracting leaders of the health system in the evaluation and negotiation of market #J-18808-Ljbffr
