As a Fresh Produce Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a vibrant and inviting produce section while ensuring exceptional service. Collaborate with the department manager to meet sales and profit goals, while upholding quality standards and fostering a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued. Key Responsibilities: Deliver outstanding customer service by acknowledging, assisting, and showing appreciation to our shoppers. Highlight the store's Corporate Brands to enhance customer satisfaction. Encourage a respectful and trustworthy culture among team members. Respond to customer inquiries about produce and other store products to create an engaging atmosphere. Develop extensive knowledge of produce items to provide informed recommendations. Assist in preparing colorful and appealing produce platters for our customers. Inform customers of current produce promotions and specials. Help customers find their desired items by making tailored recommendations. Efficiently prepare, package, label, and manage the inventory of produce. Ensure quality and freshness by inspecting products and taking necessary actions. Accurately label, stock, and manage merchandise inventory in the department. Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager. Maintain a positive attitude and actively engage with all customers. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions, seasonal items, and special advertisements. Ensure proper temperature in coolers and display cases, completing required logs. Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions to management. Carry out preventive maintenance and communicate equipment repair needs to the supervisor. Promptly report any incidents involving customers or employees to management. Communicate any risks or illegal activities, such as theft, to store management. Handle conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner. Uphold honesty and integrity in customer and business interactions. Seek help when necessary to resolve customer inquiries and issues. Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction. Perform all essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications: Ability to handle stressful situations effectively. Strong communication skills. Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction. Must obtain a current food handler's permit once employed. Desired Experience: Previous retail experience in a comparable position is preferred. Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing) is a plus.
