TCS082, T4, Band 7 Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Administer and maintain DB2 database environments, managing installation, configuration, and patch management effectively. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and vendors. Implement and uphold strong database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms. Conduct thorough database capacity planning and forecasting to support future growth and evolving business needs. Develop and maintain comprehensive database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity. Collaborate with development teams to enhance SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for optimal performance. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in DB2 database administration and recommend their integration as appropriate. Create and maintain detailed documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Perform additional tasks as required. Job-Specific Minimum Requirements: Only US citizens may be considered for this position due to Federal requirements. Active Secret clearance is mandatory. Bachelor's degree; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in database administration. Proven expertise as a DB2 DBA, with a strong background in managing DB2 databases in enterprise environments. Proficiency in DB2 utilities, including Load, Check, Copy, Runstats, Recover, Reorg, Quiesce, Report, Modify and Restore, BMC Reorg, CA Log Analyzer, etc. Must be a team player, fast learner, and able to work proactively and independently to support mission-critical operations. This position requires on-site presence five days a week at a government facility. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs is required. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Certification as an IBM Certified Database Administrator.
