Position Summary ***This position is remote based with up to 40% travel*** As the Lead Director, Pharmacy Advocacy and Regulatory Affairs, you will drive strategic and innovative pharmacy initiatives with Boards of Pharmacy across your assigned regions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Pharmacy Advocacy and Regulatory Affairs, this role plays a critical part in shaping and executing the regional regulatory strategy.

As a trusted partner to the Executive Director, the Lead Director will help shape the development and implementation of regulatory and advocacy priorities, ensuring alignment with enterprise‑wide objectives. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of pharmacy practice and regulatory frameworks, demonstrates strong deductive reasoning, and excels at managing multiple priorities in a complex, matrixed environment.

You will support relationship‑building with Boards of Pharmacy, industry coalitions, associations, academic partners, and other external stakeholders to influence pharmacy practice regulations. Internally, you will cultivate cross‑functional partnerships across Corporate Affairs, Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness, Legal, and other business units to provide strategic, forward‑looking guidance.

The supervising Executive Director may delegate ownership of select state‑level initiatives, including direct Board of Pharmacy engagement and the development of comment letters and regulatory analyses. This role offers exposure to enterprise initiatives and opportunities to mentor junior team members, serving as a pathway to broader leadership within the Regulatory Affairs organisation.

Required Skills and Experience

Expertise in pharmacy, healthcare, and regulatory.

Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and manage diverse stakeholder relationships.

Attention to detail, proactive problem‑solving, and sound risk‑mitigation judgment.

Experience leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics in real time, and finding solutions that satisfy multiple 'customers' of the business

Comfortability in a fast‑paced environment to successfully manage many projects -- whether large or small, complex, or simple - simultaneously

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

Required Qualifications

Pharmacy Degree: BS Pharm or PharmD

8+ years pharmacy and healthcare experience, including knowledge of and experience regulatory laws

Experience advising on pharmacy, healthcare issues

History of influencing others with and without authority

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Prominent level of interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple client areas

Demonstrated history of high performance

Any additional tasks as required by manager or supervisor

Regular and reliable attendance

Currently licensed as a Registered Pharmacist

Travel- Ability, and willingness, to travel regularly 40% of time

Preferred Qualifications

Juris Doctor

Fellowship or Residency related to Pharmacy Regulatory

Experience providing regulatory research and analysis in the retail healthcare industry

Experience providing regulatory support for Board of Pharmacy review

Experience working for a Fortune 5 company in professional practice, or a similar function for a retail pharmacy company

Education BS Pharmacy, Doctorate of Pharmacy, PharmD

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $100,000.00 - $231,540.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
