Heavy Civil Estimator Specialist A well-established heavy civil contractor is looking for an experienced

Civil Estimator

to enhance preconstruction and bidding efforts for major infrastructure projects. With over 75 years of dedication to quality work, this company is a key player in Ohio's public infrastructure. As a part of the team, you will create detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and general project conditions while collaborating with project teams, engineers, vendors, and owners. Key Scopes of Work Include: Earthwork Roadway construction Utilities (waterline, storm, sanitary sewer) Concrete flatwork Concrete structures Deep foundations Key Responsibilities: Review drawings, specifications, and proposals to fully grasp project requirements. Perform accurate takeoffs for labor, material, and equipment. Develop detailed cost breakdowns and bid items. Analyze labor, production rates, subcontractor quotes, and market pricing. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes promptly. Identify project risks and facilitate internal bid reviews. Prepare comprehensive bid packages and assist in preconstruction planning. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal operations teams. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Mathematics, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related role. Solid understanding of heavy civil construction principles and project sequencing. Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid preferred. Proficient in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and proposals. Valid driver's license required.
