Civil Estimator - Heavy Construction / Infrastructure A leading heavy civil contractor is on the lookout for an experienced Civil Estimator to enhance their preconstruction and bidding efforts for impactful infrastructure projects. This position involves preparing detailed cost estimates that encompass materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions. The Civil Estimator will work closely with project teams, engineers, vendors, and owners throughout the pre-bid process. Key Scopes of Work Earthwork Roadway construction Utilities (waterline, storm, sanitary sewer) Concrete flatwork Concrete structures Deep foundations Key Responsibilities Thoroughly review drawings, specifications, and proposals to grasp project requirements Conduct precise takeoffs for labor, material, and equipment Create comprehensive cost breakdowns and bid items Evaluate labor, production rates, subcontractor quotes, and market pricing Partner with subcontractors and suppliers to procure competitive and timely quotes Identify project risks and contribute to internal bid reviews Prepare complete bid packages and assist in preconstruction planning Foster strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal operations teams Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Mathematics, or a related field 2+ years of relevant experience in construction or estimating Solid understanding of heavy civil construction principles and project sequencing Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid is preferred Proficient in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office applications Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Adept at reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and proposals Valid driver's license required Benefits Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life & Disability Insurance 401(k) Plan This is a remarkable opportunity to join a respected civil contractor, make a significant impact on important projects, and advance your estimating career.
