
Specialty Sales Representative, Eye Care - Phoenix SW, AZ

Role Summary
Frontline sales professional responsible for launching and growing LENZ Therapeutics' ophthalmic presbyopia product in the Phoenix SW, AZ territory. You will educate disease states, manage relationships with optometrists and ophthalmologists, and drive sales growth while maintaining high ethics and compliance. This role requires strategic thinking, tactical execution, and cross‑functional collaboration with marketing, medical affairs, and sales operations to maximize territory performance.
Responsibilities
Expert in selling skills and account development, building relationships with targeted physicians (optometrists and ophthalmologists).
Drive execution by exceeding sales performance goals and key productivity metrics across the territory.
Use analytics to guide highly productive activity, prioritize key customer engagements, and extend product trial and utilization.
Understand all functions within ophthalmology/optometry practices and how their roles impact prescribing and pull‑through.
Maintain complete knowledge of eye care clinical information: ocular anatomy, disease state, products, and office treatment patterns.
Set actionable business plans and align selling activities to drive impact.
Maintain personal accountability for ethics and compliance.
Maximize key resources that lead to territory success.
Adapt to a fast‑paced selling environment, partnering with district managers, marketing, medical affairs, sales ops, inside sales, and training.
Share ongoing best practices among peers and leadership to elevate performance.
Ensure PDMA compliance and adherence to company and industry guidelines.
Be highly adaptable to change and able to pivot in response to market information.
Demonstrate strong communication and change management skills.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
Required: 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales with a proven track record of success.
Preferred: Proven track record of pharmaceutical launch experience.
Preferred: Eye Care experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
Additional Requirements
Field-based (remote). Candidate must live within the assigned territory.
Travel within the selling territory and to sales meetings, customer conventions, and the San Diego headquarters may be required.
Up to 40‑50% travel required in some larger territories.
Physical demands: Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs may be required; frequent out‑of‑town travel.
