About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for its San Francisco and Fresno offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for the seasoned and effective management of the field office, including program and performance management, budgeting, and employee relations. This role is pivotal in engaging with government, private sector partners, and community stakeholders to advance the organization's mission. The Managing Director will also supervise a team of attorneys and staff, provide mentoring to pro bono attorneys, and ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services to clients. Essential functions include monitoring changes in immigration law, developing management strategies, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Applicants must have a J.D. and be admitted to the state bar, with a minimum of 7 years' experience in immigration law, particularly in humanitarian immigration claims. A background in working with children, especially immigrant and refugee children, and experience in program management and staff supervision are also required. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of cultural competence, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of effective leadership. Experience in a national or larger management structure and a commitment to the well-being of employees are preferred. The role demands the ability to multitask, work with a sense of urgency, and collaborate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
