About the Role

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of senior leadership experience in nationally focused nonprofits, advocacy, or policy institutions, and a deep respect for Japanese American history. They should be a confident and inspirational spokesperson, with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. The role requires a leader who is adept at engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including members, board members, donors, and policymakers. The Executive Director will also be expected to work closely with the National Board of Directors, providing strategic input and support for effective governance. A flexible schedule and the ability to travel nationally are essential, as the organization's work often extends beyond traditional business hours.
