
DFW Movers & Erectors is looking for an Outside Sales Estimator who’s ready to build trust, deliver results, and help move the things that make your world.
As an Outside Sales Estimator, you will build strong customer relationships, identify new opportunities, and represent the full scope of the services that DFW Movers & Erectors has to offer. Your day-to-day work will center on prospecting, meeting with clients, defining project needs, and preparing clear and competitive proposals that balance quality, safety, and profitability. You’ll work closely with our operations team to ensure each project is scoped accurately and delivered with the high standards our customers have trusted for 45 years.
This role is more than just estimating—it’s about connecting with people, understanding their challenges, and showing how our team can move the things that make their world. If you have experience in sales related to construction, manufacturing, or industrial project management—and especially if you’re familiar with machinery moving, rigging, or heavy equipment—you’ll find this a rewarding opportunity. Position Responsibilities
Actively search for potential customers through cold call outreach, client referrals, and market research
Identify and generate new customer leads by prospecting physically in the field
Travel to meet prospects and current customers to conduct in-person job walks, building relationships, and closing deals in person
Develop and maintain pipeline
Engage with leads and existing customers to understand their problems, needs, and pain points
Understand scope of work to bid
Create and deliver solutions and proposal presentations to customer’s decision-making team
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and finalize sales agreements to close deals
Stay up to date on market trends, branding, and competitor activities in order to effectively market the company’s services
Work to meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue goals
Ensure timely completion of estimates/proposals
Close sales by selling value and overcoming objections
Coordinate front-end project development with Operations team
Manage expenses and maintain accurate records of client interactions
Maintain and build strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business and referrals

Responsible handling of expenses and other company assets
Knowledge of rigging and industrial equipment, their applications and terminology associated with rigging and millwright functions
Strong organizational skills and effective time management skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle all stages of the sales cycle in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service
Proficient in computer related skills
Persistent and resilient
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, construction or related field; or a minimum of eight years of related experience or training in rigging or industrial machinery industry or the equivalent combination of the formal education and experience
At least three to five years in rigging or industrial equipment sales; rigging and/or material handling experience preferred
Proven track record of business development results including prospecting new business and closing profitable work
Skilled in identifying, approaching, presenting and building relationships with decision makers within a complex sales environment.
Must be comfortable with all levels from field craft to executives
Mechanically inclined and a proven track record of success in rigging, lifting, fabrication, maintenance or transportation execution
Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic team and actively participate in successful outcomes
Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission
Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities
Demonstrated proficiency in project management
Proficient in the use of MS Office and web-based applications
Valid driver’s license.
